I've been a lurker for a few months so I thought I'd actually join & post for a change.
If anyone gets the chance to go see any of the True False Identity shows, I HIGHLY recommend it!
I was at the Boston show at the Somerville Theatre and. . .damn. That's all I can really say.
The Somerville Theatre is only about 900 seats so there were pretty much no bad seats. I was 11 rows back and in direct view of the microphone. Fricking *perfect*. And I could indeed see the whites of his eyes (the blue however, was lost in the funky lighting). Because the building was built circa 1914, the acoustics were perfect for the quasi-acoustic set that Jakob played with keyboardist Patrick Warren.
Set list consisted of:
-Everything I Need
-We're Already There
-Up From Under
-How Good It Can Get
-How Far You've Come
-Here He Comes (Confessions of a Drunken Marionette)
-The Beautiful Side of Somewhere
I was disappointed that Jakob did not come out and do an encore with T-Bone and his band, and/or play "Invisible City" for his own encore (thewallflowers.com's listed that he's done so for some shows). :(
But might I say, T Bone Burnett rocks for an old duffer! ^_^
Ditto for his kick ass band. (I swear Brodie [Mallrats] was playing keys & the like)
Buy his cd while you're there.
And if anyone else was at the Somerville Theatre last night for the show, I was the freakshow with the blue hair. ^_^
