The Wallflowers

Hey all.  I'm a very old school Wallflowers fan.  Anyways, I was cleaning out my apartment a while ago and come across a lot of older posters and cassette taped bootlegs.  I don't wanna sell them, but I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in them.  I don't have them with me right now, but I do remember I have several older copies (from the early 90's) and I probably have about 30 tapes in all.   It's a shame to just... have them sitting in my closet.  Does anyone have the ability/interest in converting them to cds. or hearing them in general?!

True False Identity Tour [Jun. 3rd, 2006|11:04 am]
The Wallflowers
[mood |giddygiddy]
[music |Empire In My Mind - The Wallflowers]

I've been a lurker for a few months so I thought I'd actually join & post for a change.

If anyone gets the chance to go see any of the True False Identity shows, I HIGHLY recommend it!
I was at the Boston show at the Somerville Theatre and. . .damn.  That's all I can really say.

The Somerville Theatre is only about 900 seats so there were pretty much no bad seats.  I was 11 rows back and in direct view of the microphone.  Fricking *perfect*.  And I could indeed see the whites of his eyes (the blue however, was lost in the funky lighting).  Because the building was built circa 1914, the acoustics were perfect for the quasi-acoustic set that Jakob played with keyboardist Patrick Warren.

Set list consisted of:
-Everything I Need
-We're Already There
-Up From Under
-How Good It Can Get
-How Far You've Come
-Here He Comes (Confessions of a Drunken Marionette)
-The Beautiful Side of Somewhere

I was disappointed that Jakob did not come out and do an encore with T-Bone and his band, and/or play "Invisible City" for his own encore (thewallflowers.com's listed that he's done so for some shows).  :(

But might I say, T Bone Burnett rocks for an old duffer!  ^_^
Ditto for his kick ass band.  (I swear Brodie [Mallrats] was playing keys & the like)
Buy his cd while you're there.

And if anyone else was at the Somerville Theatre last night for the show, I was the freakshow with the blue hair.  ^_^

The Wallflowers

Last summer I went everywhere looking for this bush I wanted to plant. Nobody knew what it was called or knew what I was talking about. But I found it yesterday.... it's called a Wallflower. :P No wonder I liked it so much.

WTF... [Apr. 1st, 2006|09:27 pm]
The Wallflowers

So, I was just sitting here in a rousing game of Snood with my back turned to the tv. Just chillin out with VH1 and a JCPenny commercial comes on. Of course as a true Wallflower fan, my head snaps at the sound of Jakob's voice.

And now I present to you my WTF moment for the year. Our precious Jakob performing "Bang a Gong" for JC Penny. I'm not quite sure what Jakob, JC Penny, and "Bang a Gong" have to do with one another.

Look up in the top right corner to play. I don't know how I feel about this just yet...

A Wallflowers Sighting... [Jan. 17th, 2006|11:14 am]
The Wallflowers

[mood |sicksick]

I work at a movie theater in Southern California, and the other day last week I was selling tickets to a man and asked to see his ID (he was using a credit card). I didn't really look at him that close, but he handed me the license and it said Rami Jaffee on it! I was in shock. I love the Wallflowers, but I probably wouldn't have recognized him without seeing the name. That's my random story for you. It was pretty cool.
